We had a wonderful experience at the JW Marriott Guanacaste. The resort is beautiful, the location is terrific, and the staff is incredible. Ariel at the front desk, Jeanneth at the breakfast buffet, and Alfredo at the valet stand all went above and beyond to ensure we had a terrific trip. We'll be back!

Great room, views, activities and especially service. Friendly and attentive staff. Whether you want to trek into the surrounding nature or just relax at the pool or on the beach, you can do it all here. The resort definitely lives up to the JW Marriot name.

Spent a beautiful awesome 4 nights / Sara here last week! The resort is located in a HUGE private property and is a 10 min ride from the entry gates! The beach is absolutely gorgeous with clean white sand. ! Very private attached to the hotel and LOVED waking there ! A multi pronged leaf- shaped pool adds to the beauty of the atmosphere of course! The pool bar and grill were great and service by the poolside was excellent! The rooms were comfortable and clean with the balcony overlooking the ocean ! A WORD OF CAUTION! Do NOT leave balcony doors open ! RACOONS come into your rooms for candy and snacks etc ! Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful! Karin who was housekeeper for us was excellent too !

Desde el momento de la reservación hasta la salida del hotel recibimos un trato excelente de parte de todo el personal, siempre atentos a cada detalle, con una excelente actitud y disposición para que no nos faltara nada y nos sintiéramos muy cómodos. Una felicitación especial a Edgar quien se encarga de servir las bebidas y comidas alrededor de la piscina, un muchacho súper atento siempre pendiente de cada detalle, esforzado y con una actitud muy positiva y alegre, al igual que don José Antonio el encargado de las piscinas quien nos ayudó con paños y sillas para estar más cómodos y cerca de todo lo que necesitamos para pasar unos días muy agradables. El hotel impecable, muy limpio, ordenado con unos jardines espectaculares muy bien cuidados. La comida deliciosa, variada y con ingredientes muy naturales. Es un hotel pet Friendly. Realmente fue una experiencia maravilloso y fijo vamos a volver.

The JW Marriott Guanacaste is a beautiful, secluded property. During our stay, we found the staff to be attentive, the rooms were clean, and the food was good. The pool is spacious with meandering borders, so they can fit many chairs at the poolside. We were there in June, so the property didn't feel too crowded. Some of the cons for us included the cost (hotel and food), lack of an authentic Costa Rica experience (which we did not expect by staying at a large chain), and the extreme seclusion (it takes 10-15min just to get from the hotel to the front gate of the property, so all excursions are at least 30min away). We selected this property because our friends were staying there also--while we had no major complaints, we would probably pick something that suits our own family better in the future.

The last stop on our Riviera Travel tour of Costa Rica, we stayed here for 3 nights. The place has a corporate feel with most guests being either USA or Canadian, but it is well designed so that no areas appear too crowded. There is a beautiful swimming pool which meanders and winds it's way through the garden, with loungers in small clusters rather than long lines. There are several restaurants and an excellent breakfast buffet selection. It is quite expensive but the quality is worth it.

The JW Marriott is an excellent property right on the ocean! We loved everything about our stay and can't wait to return! The room was spotless and we didn’t encounter any bugs or animals on the property. We had an awesome ocean-view room, a platinum elite welcome fruit platter, the infinity pool has an ocean and sunset view, and is large enough to accommodate everyone without crowding, the restaurants offer a variety of cuisines, activities vary daily and include cocktail-making and evening happy hour, s'mores on the beach, etc.
